YOUR POSITION WITH THE ARCC
The ARCC Ambassador works with either an assigned ARCC board member or the Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) in planning and implementing community engagement events that broaden support for the ARCC within the climbing community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Representing the ARCC Board at events in the Ambassador’s local climbing community, and, when feasible, at non-local Arkansas and out-of-state climbing venues
Networking with their local climbing/outdoor community and providing feedback to the assigned ARCC board member or the CEC
Planning and implementing meaningful events that highlight the ARCC’s work and bolster support for its programs and,
Cultivating a climbing community culture that is positive and inclusive.
The ARCC Ambassador position is voluntary. Either the ARCC Ambassador or the ARCC may end the position at any time upon email notice to the other.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Networks with diverse groups, including rock climbing gyms, local clubs, crag owners, members, and conservation partners to recruit support for the ARCC and publicize ARCC programs/priorities.
Assists the assigned board member or CEC in planning and implementing local community engagement events.
Completes events forms containing budget and scope of responsibilities and submits them for board approval 90 days in advance of the event.
Works within a budget to complete projects and assist with budget development and fundraising targets.
Complies with ARCC’s guidances, policies and procedures.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong connections with the local climbing community as well as: outdoor stores, gym owners, land owners, hunting clubs, mines, timber companies, outdoor clubs...etc.
Experience planning, coordinating, and/or implementing community engagement events.
Experience creating and posting marketing materials for various current social media platforms (with approval from the ARCC Board).
Some experience managing volunteers.
Strong history of completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
